FRAN KELLY The central claim of the Prime Minister’s speech yesterday was that a change of government would see women banished from the centre of Australian political life. What’s your response to that?
JULIE BISHOP Well it was an utterly ridiculous claim and a crude political ploy from a desperate Prime Minister who’s leading a bitterly divided party and she was clearly trying to distract attention away from her self-inflicted political woes.
