Subjects: Julia GIllard's gender war

TONY EASTLEY: The most senior woman in the Coalition, the deputy Opposition Leader, Julie Bishop, says the Prime Minister's remarks are offensive, crude and desperate.

Ms Bishop is speaking here to AM's Naomi Woodley.

JULIE BISHOP: The laws on abortion in Australia will not change under a Coalition government. Julia Gillard is well aware of that and for her to raise abortion as an election issue just three months out from the election is as offensive as it is false and she should apologise.

NAOMI WOODLEY: Does that though extend to the funding of Medicare for abortion services?
