JOURNALIST Does Kevin Rudd’s return make the election tougher for the Coalition now?
JULIE BISHOP We’ve never taken this election for granted. We know that we have to win the trust and the respect of the Australian people and the revolving door of the Labor leadership really changes nothing. There’s still division and bitterness within the Labor Party, the civil war continues, but the policies remain the same. The carbon tax will continue to put up electricity prices, the boats will continue to arrive, the debt and deficit will continue to increase. It’s the same old book just a recycled cover.
JOURNALIST Ok this may be something different. Kevin Rudd this afternoon called on politicians to be kinder and gentler to one another. Now I want to ask you, do you agree that Australia’s first female Prime Minister was treated more brutally than her predecessors?
